Watched her disappear over the horizon in the mid-80s with a Maltese flag and a full cargo of potatoes from one of the northern Tasmanian ports, not sure which - maybe Burnie. Can't remember the new name.
Another memory, Melbourne Trader was bought off the stocks in Norway by ANL. She then was put on the Bass Strait trade, Melbourne to Burnie, Devonport & Bell Bay. Then in 1976/77 she was switched to the North Queensland trade from Northern Tasmania. A good run that was, especially after the hectic Bass Strait trade. The ports of call was as follows:Bell Bay(Launcecton), Burnie (same day), Sydney, Brisbane, Port Alma (Rockhampton) Mackay,Townsville, Cairns, then back to Sydney and Port Kembla and to Bell Bay to start the cycle over again. She was a good sea ship and I enjoyed my two years sailing aboard her.
