A superb photo Dan, well done, and yes, you've got the correct vessel Terry.
A fantastic achievement to reach 35 years of age for a bulker and looking in good shape too. Amazingly, she has always been under this name since new.

Patalavaca - This owner, Phocean (Efthemyiou family) have always taken pride in their fleet. You should have seen some of their old tweendeckers. From the 50's., they nearly always ordered new tonnage from Germany and were one of the first owners to go in for large gearless bulkers. Been aboard a couple of their ships, and always been happy with the professionalism of their masters , officers and crew. Thye built , I think three geared 40,000 dwat in the60's., one of which I think was the 'MISTER MICHAEL' with 2X 10tonne derricks at each hatch. The old man , Efthymiou , when shown by his naval architect the intitial plans of the ships noticed that they were 'all aft' and asked the architect 'how on earth is my captains supposed to see from back there?' and insisted that they move the wheelhouse and deck officers accomodation to amidships. 'That's better , now my captains can see properly' - I kid you not. Those ships lasted until , I think two years ago. Well run ships and company and they loved Grain(Thumb)
Thanks. The Mister Michael and Meraklis were sisters of the Minos. I have a pic them in Gibraltar taken in the late 90s together with pics of the Master Petros and Michalakis which had the two superstructure arrangement.
