My father always wore the badge on his civvies,he was proud to have served in the MN in WW2. H e left port on one ship with a load of ammo for North Africa, when he left his hair was jet black and when he returned his hair had changed to grey, he never got over that trip and that ended his MN days, he developed heart problems and we always blamed his last journey for the problem.

I've got one of these on my jacket.
Issued so that you didn't get a white feather as a shirker.
A lot of Merch lads wore these upside down so that it read NW (Not Wanted)

When I was an Eng. App in Southampton, 1968, I found one in a pawn shop. Wore it for years then somehow and somewhere is disappeared. Really regret that...
