Ahoy Semaj & Mac,
I agree.... this is the one...
12,700 g.t & 19,056 dwt.
L X B X D = 556'52 X 72'0" X 30'4".
Fitted with a 6 Cyl. Doxford main engine of 6,800 b.h.p.
She was completed as the " Haukefjell" in May 1960 at Sunderland for Olsen & Ugelstad of Oslo, Norway.
She was sold whilst on the stocks to Moss Tankers Ltd., a division of Cunard Brocklebank of Liverpool.
She served them until 1975 when she was sold to Vinstra Shipping Co.( Pte. ) Ltd., of SIngapore and renamed " CHERRY PRINCE".
I saw her several times anchored off Singapore while under this name.
She was sold for scrap to Taiwanese shipbreakers and having left Singapore on 13/06/1980 for Indonesia she arrived at Kaohsiung prior to 07/07/1980.
Mac, Patalavaca Spot on the 3rd Engineer was happy as his Cabin had it's own shower (I was told Norway had some Female Engineers and the Cabin was purpose built for this).
Thank you Rick for the photie of Luxor, hope you received the one I sent you. I'm having a few problems with e-mails bouncing back so hopefully my photie found its way to you.
Best Regards,
Tracey.
D YEO any chance you know the 3rd engineers name, I know his first name was Bob. Due to some cir***stance he decided to stay aboard for as long as he could, it was over 2 years when I met him so maybe your paths crossed?
Cheers
