One of a series of bulkers built for Lamberts and fellow Scottish Ship Management companies, Lyle and Hogarth. All had Ruston & Hornsby engines which proved disaterous and all had to be re-engined which helped the demise of the group. "Temple Arch" sold 1978, renamed "Solitaire", 1979 "Leila", ? "Royal Kris" and sold Chinese breakers 1994.

Hi Dave
Did my last trip as deck apprentice on bord the Temple Arch. Joined her in Bunbury (West Ausie) and remember she looked an absolute mess. She had Ruston Engines and the GP crew were permanantly down the engine room assisting the engineers to keep at least on of the engines running.
Took sixty odd days to go from Albany to Avonmouth. Two black balls permanantly rigged on the bridge wing (started to think we had changed our house flag to two black balls.) The Temple Arch was my only experience on a Lambert Vessel during my eleven years with Scottish Ship Management.
