In Moss Tankers I never saw anyone in Drag . On one of my trips however when we were running between Rastanura and Jeddah ( 9 months duration ) one of the lads bought some water pistols and bottles of red and green ink .
It was Engineers against the Mates with an indian crew as spectators . When one was hit you had to mimick the pain ( for example ink on the leg meant one had to limp etc . A heart or head shot was considered "fatal " .
I cant imagine what the crew really thought of the 'Sahibs " acting like kids .
For a while it was more popular than " Movie Night " or the incessant Bingo ; Crib and Carrom tournaments .
Can't remember the old mans name now but I do recall he was an excellent master. That was just a fancy dress party organised to relieve the boredom of being at anchor for an age. It was that OM's idea to fill a bucket with beer, pass it around till the music stopped & drink till the music started. Nowadays its just soft drinks I guess...
