1943-12-24: Final Fate: The HANS CHRISTOPHERSEN ran aground on 24 December 1943 in the Gulf of Bothnia, 4 miles south of Saelgrund. The wreck broke on 26 December 1943 and had to be abandoned as a total loss. The ship was sailing from Stettin to Finland. (Note: Possibly the HANS CHRISTOPHERSEN was officially owned by the German Reich and H.W. Christophersen, Flensburg, acted as manager)
