New Orleans, steamboat landing.

New Orleans, steamboat landing.

From a late 19C allbum - Marvels of America. The cation reads:
TO the Northerner, perhaps no sight is more characteristic of the South than that of the levees of New Orleans and the Mississippi steamers that crowd her wharves, with their vast top hamper of cotton bales, sugar cane, and tobacco leaf.

Not quite the hustle and bustle described in the caption. But the planks give a great sense of space, really a picture to walk into. Happy Holidays! Stein.
