Nordic Empress

This ship was a pure delight! We sailed on her three times. Her aft facing main restaurant was very inovative for the time. Now every ship has one..! I believe she's still going today under the name EMPRESS...

I only sailed on this ship once, and the sunny day this picture was taken was the only sun on the entire cruise. Leaving New York it was so foggy you couldn't see either shore, then out at see the high winds and 30 foot waves started. We had the cabin with the balcony in the front on the starboard side, but I'm not sure anymore if it was the upper or lower one. Being able to look over the bow of the ship seemed like a good idea when I booked the cabin, but the high winds, combined with the ships speed, made going out on the balcony a real treat, to say the least !!
