Beautiful image. I always wondered what QE would look like with the mast above the bridge and kingposts on the forward deck. Nieuw Amsterdam would have looked wonderful with those features.
I prefer the traditional look myself, but ships like CARONIA would look better with a larger, plated mast like say SAGAFJORD than the tripod pole mast.
The QUEENs look classica older in design, while the NORMANDIE really had more futuristic looks. The chief designer and engineer Djourkaieff offered among many shipowners several design, also to the Cunard, which refused, and then the new client was the French CGT and became the NORMANDIE - probably the very liner of liners in modern maritime history.
