As built: Two, 12-cyl. 4 SCSA (420 x 450mm) Mitsui 12V42M vee type by the shipbuilder, geared to twin controllable pitch propellers. 18,000bhp. 18.75 kts. Three thwartship thrust controllable pitch propellers forward and one aft.
Post 2007: Two, 8-cyl. 2 SCSA (400 x 560mm) Sulzer 8ZAL40S type by Wartsila Switzerland Ltd, Winterthur, geared to twin controllable pitch propellers. 16,320bhp. Three thwartship thrust controllable pitch propellers forward and one aft.
11.9.1978: Keel laid as IBEX by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Company Ltd., Tamano, (Yard No. 1163) for P&O Ferries Ltd.
27.12.1978: Launched.
