You have summed it up well – she was an “interesting” ship to work. The “massive” 25 ton Heavy Lift Derrick was, to quote Black Adder, a bit like putting wheels on a tomato, very complicated to arrange and frankly hardly worth the effort.

just looking through the photo gallery and what a great photo this is of the OT as she was fondly known to regular crew members,i just checked my discharge book and realised i was on board at the time this was taken , it was my second trip on her ,i have actually got 11 discharges from the OT,so you could say i was part of the furniture from the 19/01/75 to 08/04/78 so our paths must have crossed along the way.
