The Olympic Honour was involved in a previous incident, which can be found in the casualties section of this site. I was sailing in the Rhexenor, homeward bound from Australia. Owing to the World Peace colliding with the AlFardan railway bridge, the Suez canal was blocked for a many days, causing a large build of traffic awaiting transit. We anchored in the already crowded anchorage at Port Suez and, one night, the Olympic Honour, approaching her designated anchorage, collided with the Olympic Thunder, striking her on the port side just for'd of the bridge. there was an explosion and a fire which, I believe was extinguished by the ships crew. I believe this incident occured on the 8th. Jan. 1955.
