The name "Montgomery" is given because Britisch ships leaves here in 1944 with Belgian commando's as part of Montgomery's army, to liberate isle of Walcheren (Nederland) on the Schelde river.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Arne, but I also heard that Ostend is the birthplace of the Great British Chip. Never was so much owed by so many to so few.
