I am fairly certain the vessel in the middle is SS Oronsay of 1951, and the one above that is SS Otranto of 1925.

Having accepted that it was Otranto I would have to also accept it to be Orontes, could have and should have checked closer.

Alan,apart from 5 years difference in service ORONTES was the only one of the class to have a raked bow.( ORAMA, ORONSAY and ORFORD being war losses)and OTRANTO had straight stems.

Thanks for that John. A old friend sailed on Otranto from Sydney to the UK on her last voyage back in 1957.
