Seen here berthed at Princes Wharf no 2/3 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia on her first and only visit to Hobart. P&O said that the ship will never come to Hobart again, after it had a rough trip down the coast and broke down on departure from Hobart
Yeah, she has been to Burnie the past few summers and she was meant to go to Devonport one summer but it was too windy to get in so she went up to Burnie. Shame, I would like to see her down here again.
One of the members of the Hobart Branch of the WSS told me last week, when P&O owned P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises, a port was never missed because of rough weather and the ships like the old Oriana rough weather would never have stopped here. Now that Carnival own the P&O Cruises and Princess you quite often hear of ports being cut because of rough weather. All though I am too young to know, I say bring back the Tradition of Brittish Cruises. "To miss a port, just was not British!!"
