Brings back memories. As a school boy I visited theses two and was at school on the day they arrived in Barry roads. Sully school was right on the coast and the class rooms all looked out over the channel. The sight of these large square riggers sailing in to pick up the pilot was somthing i'll never forget.
This is my home town. The docks were closed well before i was born and well looked nothing like this picture. But it was a area where lots of the towns' youngsters would hang out at. The church you can see above the docks was apparently a landmark for German bombers.
You should see what it all looks like now: yuppie flats, tescos and the usual consumer madness. Glad i come across this one.
