PARAGUAY STAR

Blue Star Line’s 1948 Cammell, Laird (Birkenhead) built PARAGUAY STAR is seen passing Hoek van Holland inbound for Rotterdam from Buenos Aires on 12th July 1968.

She suffered a fire at London on 12th August 1969 and arrived at Hamburg on 19th September 1969 for breaking.

Great photo of a real ship, enjoyed two trips on her as EDH 1965.

Thanks for that link to the ssmaritime website, eddyw. I knew next-to-nothing about these Blue Star ships and enjoyed looking at the deck plans and photos of the very fine interiors. Quite an elegant way to travel - providing one had congenial shipmates... (Always my fear when considering travel by freighter!)
