PLOVER

PLOVER

Liberian s.s. PLOVER in dock at Rotterdam. GRT 7,067. The smoke comes from a little fire in one of the deep tanks, which could be extinguished soon.

'Could be' or 'would be' extinguished soon? Just wish my Dutch was half way as perfect as your English.

My kindest to your good self, Gijsha, my 1961 'Eboe' passenger Professor Pim Jungerious and your wonderful Country.

Yes to your question Granty. The saloon came out in late '48 but not sure about the van. Care to hazard a guess as to the near to rear end?

The "Minor" is a bit of a home conversion? It was one of the earlier one's with the split screen and it is not a "Traveller" bodywork.
Interesting none the less, especially the motor cycle which could be a delivery three wheeler with a luggage box in front. It is in front of
a shop with the same name. Thanks for the photo Gijsa. I always enjoyed my visits to Rotterdam. I still have an ashtray from the
Zanzibar in Binnenweg as a souvenir on the opening day.. Bob Appleton
