Seen at Wellington, probably ariving as the anchor is ready to let go, which was the method used at Wellington when berthing, and the pilot vessel Uta looks as though she is getting ready to run a headline. Uta was sold in 1958, renamed Northern Light, and used as a commercial fishing boat. Sank off Port Adventure, Stewart Island, on 12 November 1978, although her loss does not appear in New Zealand Shipwrecks.
Interesting shot - any idea of the date, apart from pre-1958 (sale of "Uta". In my time in Port Line, September 1959-1967, "Port Chalmers" had a yardarm on her foremast - does anyone know when it was fitted? Sistership "Port Wyndham" never had a yardarm.
