No sisters. Similar was the Port Nicholson.
When completed in 1960 she was the largest vessel in the Port Line fleet but was soon eclipsed by the Port Nicholson.
She was the 11th ship for Port Line since WW11.
She had hydraulic hatches throughout and was fully air-conditioned and had a permanent mosaic swimming pool.
Her maiden voyage was under the command of Captain P.H. Pedrick.
Port Line fitted a basic bar in the officers lounge and we then fitted it out over the next few trips - it looked good with a superb sound system (eight track bought in New York when on MANZ run) - many great parties - Great ship!!
