Hasse,
This is a familiar place for loading almonds and raisin and things. I remember one Sunday morning waking up to the roar of a racing boat race back and to through the channel just outside the porthole of the cabin. Someone on board throw a (empty!) beer bottle and the police made a hell. Never seen the place since and the photo brings it all back.

Lars,
remember that the old ones on-board warn us to take care, when ashore.

Yeah, I was robbed once for gas money by four big "bamsingar"! You had to walk through the ghetto to come to town. But in broad daylight you thought you could walk safe in those days. Or until that day.

Stockton still has it's scary neighborhoods. The old skid row is gone but the strip along Charter Way is still pretty rough.
