A very comfortable ship. I saw her arrive at Southampton as the Olympia of Viking Line for handover to P&O back in 1993 and decided to book up for a trip to Spain. Couldn't get on the first trip but managed to get on the second.
See my thread in Ferries forum "Olympia/Pride of Bilbao".

David - I'm sure that you'll have a great time. I haven't managed a trip this year but I've done a few and went on a tour last year and got to see behind the scenes a bit - verry impressive.

She seems to have had engineering problems in the last week or so - check timings before you go (the treminal for foot passengers is a bit poor).

There are excursions in Spain but Santurtzi, where she docks is also verry nice & you won't be rushing around - there's only 4 hours ashore.

Thanks for that Richard. Yes, she has been late for the past few weeks. We get the shipping times on local radio here on the I.O.W and myself or my son listen to the ship itself on our scanner. Last Thursday when over Portsmouth for a meeting she did not come in until 2300, some 6 hours late. I was in the terminal last month going off on the Val de Loire to St Malo and back. Yes, it is not very good. The Pride of Bilbao was in when we left. I was going to book up a hotel room for when we get back from Spain to save the trip back to the island that evening, but if she is late it may be too late to book into a hotel, so I am not sure what to do. David
