PRIDE OF BURGUNDY

PRIDE OF BURGUNDY

THE 'CHEF' has a look around the Food Court. We had a very nice talk. He said he would not forget me. I will not either. I learnt from him that the Captain of 'Pride of Burgundy' on that crossing would be the captain of the 'SPIRIT OF BRITAIN'

Always thought that Steve, (the chef) was the crew cook. He was always behind the counter in the crew cafetaria when I sailed with him.

I don't know really. Just spoke to him for a minute or two. He didn't say who he cooks for. He's a very nice chap, like many others among the 'Pride of Burgundy' crew. I really hope this ship will stay on the Channel for a long time because I have plenty of good memories on her, and still gather some! But I know, they cannot stay for ever.

Hello Jean-Marie. It looks like Steve, can't remember his surname, though if I heard it..... I did eleven and a half years on the Burgundy, Second Mate to acting Master. I too have fond memories, as she was my last ship before retirement. A very nice ship with nice people, though with the two new one about to come on stream, and the she being the eldest of the conversions, ( converted during build), who knows what her fate will be. I think the Captain would have been David Miller, a very able, Master. with whom I also had the pleasure of sailing with for several years whilst on the Burgundy.
Nice to see Steve is still there.
