Same name, different ship.

The 1973 Prinsendam was 8,566 grt, 382 passengers. She caught fire and sank off Alaska in 1980 while on a positioning voyage from Vancouver to Singapore. She had 320 passengers and 190 crew on board and all were saved.

The current Prinsendam was built in 1988 as Royal Viking Sun. She is 37,845 grt with 843 passengers. In 1994, when Klosters ran out of money, she was sold to Cunard. After Carnival bought Cunard, she was transferred within the Carnival group to Holland America.
