Main item in a catalogue of 450 items (more photos follow) for sale by auction in Paris next Monday 9.2.09. I dropped by to see what was on offer.... Sale price? 80,000 to 100,000 Euros! Anyone interested?? It's only 4 tonnes.
It would be great at the Maritime Museum in New York. Or maybee at Saint Nazzire France, where she was constructed by Chantiers de l'Atlantique. I just hope that this important piece of maritime history wont go to a private collector, as it would be denying ship lovers everywhere a chance to experience one of the greatest French liner ever.
Ive missed out on the first Queens, the QE2, and now the Norway. They just dont build em like they use to.
Just heard on the evening news that this little bit of history was knocked down for the modest sum of 273,000 Euros - That's 239,600 Pounds or 350,500 USD. I don't know if it went to a private buyer. I'll see if I can find out...The other lots go on sale tomorrow
For that sort of money you would want it to have at least 2 bedrooms and a seperate toilet. While I very much appreciate the historical value of the ship I think someone is going to be laughing all the way to the bank.
Regards
Emmanuel
