Hi Brent, an interesting photo of the PUKEKO.
You were very lucky not to have lost your excellent collection of photographs in your house fire.

Hi Emmanuel--That event happened 47 years ago when I was just getting interested in ships. Back then as a teenager, I was lucky enough to have a friend who worked for the local newspaper(now defunct), and who would get me the glossy versions of ship pics that would appear in the paper. I found these particular ones outside in a soggy mess after the fire brigade cleared stuff out--managed to separate them, but a lot of 8x10's had to become 6x4's. I still remember the kitchen chair with a big unscorched 'square' where a borrowed Lloyds Register had been sitting--it fortunately survived, though slightly scorched. My older brother had left the iron on when he went to school. Thanks for all the wonderful shots you've posted this year.
Regards, Brent
