It is wonderful, it had been posted so long without any comments I decided to draw attention to it. :)

I assume it dates back to the late 1980s? Or is it the 1990s? (I don't know when her stern was modified?)

Best wishes,

Mark.

Taken only in a year's window between her re-engining in 1986/7 and 1988.The Magrodome with its retractable roof along with the Quarter Deck pool were removed then. The two large launches, Alpha and Beta would also go eventually.

Thanks for the information, Paul.

I've since seen that the launches were removed in 1994, I am not sure if that is accurate.

Best wishes,

Mark.

Great image. I see the spot on the lido (port side near the stair) where we would lay-out every day during 2-Hawaiian cruises I did on QE2 in 1988 and 1989. We did a eastbound crossing on her w/the magradome still in place in May, 1991. The next time onboard the entire mess (it was really unattractive) had been removed and the aft decks looked far better.
