Is that a serious crease in the hull, below the top most row of portholes within the black paint?

Hi jag,
no crease, it is just marking the welding of the hull plates to that deck level. In certain light conditions it can really look bad. This is a photo of her port side:

Let's hope that she makes enough money for her owners to be happy with their investment, and that they keep her in good order. If the former doesn't happen, I fear for the latter.

But from the photos posted recently she looks good right now, so let's all be pleased that she's not gone to become razor blades!

I can't see how it can make money. People don't visit Dubai to stay in what is otherwise a tarted up Western museum piece of a hotel but with premium prices, despite her "fame". The latter will of course gradually dissipate as the years go on as the memory of her in service fades.
She's still going to end up going up a beach somewhere, the only question is when.

Sorry that you are such a pessimist James. One only hopes that she is a success. Getting travel agents onside would be a good start.

The QE2 is berthed at the former Dubai cruise terminal which now houses an exhibition before boarding the ship, the whole area is being developed with apartments, restaurants, shops with the QE2 Hotel being centre stage.
