Thanks for the location Stewart - thought it might have been Rothesay .... now I'm trying to remember what I was on at the time, possibly "Queen Mary II"?

Certainly is Rothesay Bay. Thats the stump of Craigmore Pier in the background.

Could have been from Glen Sannox, she was Rothesay ferry then before the introduction of Saturn in 1978.

Thanks agentroadrunner -

I think we were on a cruise from Gourock - rather than the service from Wemyss Bay, just can't recall now!

Taken in Rothesay Bay in 1977. She was chartered by the Waverley Company from McAlpines whilst Waverley was being repaired. As she did not have a Class3 passenger certificate, she could only operate inside the ***braes and lay over in Millport at night from Sunday to Thursday and at Glasgow the rest of the week. I believe her engines were taken to the Science Museum in London in 1979 after she finished her active career.

On the day she grounded I was waiting for the Dunoon ferry at Gourock when the rescued passengers came ashore
