I am sure that there are lots of people that consider this room to be perfectly charming, elegant even, in its somewhat old-world style.
Personally, I think that it is ghastly; banal and pretentious. With the fancy dome it seems to recall either the first Mauretania or the Aquitania, except that the ceiling height is way too low to carry that off. The panelling also appears to recall this early 1900s era and yet is too plain and boring. The sea of creamy beige sofas and chairs (ever so tasteful) make it look like a second rate provincial hotel lounge. Is this supposed to evoke Edwardian elegance and grandeur? It misses by a mile. This is nothing but suburban mediocrity.

If you sit at the bar and face the row of bottles it makes a better lounge. :)

Clive, you are probably right, but I'd rather this ship than most other ships around today. Compare with Queen's Grill Lounge is MARY 2. It is disgusting. A big, bare, room... almost like a aircraft hanger... looks like one too!
