When I was Master of the edible oil tanker Syndic we often used to discharge at a berth in Old Harbour Hull. A similar vessel was being built by the shipyard there, I know she was named RA, but I am not sure if she had a number, is the vessel depicted the same vessel?

Hi Sam
Thanks for that information. I remember one went on trials on the River Humber and smashed a lot of the windows.
Regards Robert

Pictured is the RA II of Eastmar Travel. Check out the Rhine Cruisers "Prinzessin Katharina" (ex Prinzessin Von Preussen) and "Princesse de Provence". Not so tall but much longer, built by Ruscador on the Humber.
I can remember on sea trials that RA II got into difficulties with high winds at the lock gates and wouldn't manouvre no matter how the four engines screamed ahead and astern! Only had Tiny Props for cruising.
