You certainly wouldn't want to connect your headphones to the wrong one.[=P]

Power supply unit/modulator, Steve. It's an Oceanspan probably VII
I hope they've got that morse key welded to the desk. Currently about 2 to 3 hundred quid's worth.
Can't understand the two receivers since the top one is half of the Mercury/Electra setup that the lower Atalanta replaced. Maybe a trawler sparkie can explain.
Wouldn't've caught me sailing on one. Self-preservation.[=P]

That's because that was about all it could span, Steve.[=P]
Very low power. I always thought about 100 watts but I believe on HF it could get as low as 60. I rather liked it and sailed around the world with it without too many problems.
They got a bit complicated later and used to make my head hurt. (Whaaa)

At sunrise in NZ it was usually possible to raise Portishead on 12Mhz with the Oceanspan VII and I believe there were occasions when Portishead gave strength 5. And it was not unknown for Sparks to sneak some messages off while in port if the main or emergency aerial was still rigged.
