Regina D

Regina D

I have noted in earlier posts the odd collection of early MSC ships that kick started the operation. Nobody could take exception to the beautiful lines of the Regina D seen here passing Terneuzen inward bound for Antwerp in 1989. Built as the Antonia Johnson in 1971 she was 15,769 gr tons.

As new she did not have the two middle canes, there were two gantry cranes there. The small cranes was for the forwars and aft hold where refrigerated cargo like salmon was loaded in boxes. The all other holds took containers. Some took refrigerator containers. I think she loaded 740 TEU.
