RFA SIR TRISTRAM

RFA SIR TRISTRAM being piggy back home from the Falklands.During the Falklands conflict Sir Tristram was badly damaged by bombs from Argintinian Aircraft at Bluff Cove,neverless she returned to the UK for repairs in June 1983 aboard the special purpose ship DAN LIFTER.During 1984-85 she was rebuilt which included a new 29ft long midship section at the cost of13million this work was carried out at the Tyne Shiprepairers LTD.SIR TRISTRAM now sits proud on her mooring at the Port Of Portland and acts as a training platform.

Such a sad sight, even all these years on, I knew the bosun (Yu Sik Che) who died in that attack during the Falklands War.

At the going down of the sun.....
