They were only manned by BI not owned. The previous livery was that of troop ships and they wore the ensign of the Ministry of Transport.

Does anyone know what the prefix would have been when they were BI manned? Was it RFA? MV? or some other? Curious.

I joined Sir Galahad in Keppel Harbour, Singapore, in Feb 1970 before the ship became under the RFA flag. I was the first and only RFA officer onboard for a couple of weeks and took a lot of mostly friendly flack from the BI boys who were manning her then. She was known as LSL Sir Galahad and was painted as Purser52 states.
