The 1955 Short Brothers, Sunderland, built RIO PLATA, owned by Glysca Cia. Nav. S.A. (E.Glyptis & M.K.Scarvelis), Piraeus, is seen passing Hoek van Holland outward from Rotterdam early on 28th June 1970 bound for Marseille.

RIO PLATA was wrecked off Haitan Island, China, on 23.11.71 after striking a reef during a loaded voyage from Chungjin, North Korea, to Gdynia with a cargo of magnesite.

1971: Grounded and Sank at Haitan Island on voyage Chungjin North Korea to Gdansk Poland Loaded.
