RMS ''Queen Elizabeth''.

One of many extremely fine pieces of marine art work, featuring Cunard ships of the past, on board RMS ''Queen Mary 2''. This is of the original RMS ''Queen Elizabeth'', apparently in the Clyde, with the CSP Co. steamer ''Queen Mary II'' possibly tendering. It looks as if the Royal Standard is at

My suspicions were that this was a work of SN member Capt. Stephen J. Card, though I don't think the work was signed and I don't recall any details plate alongside the painting. However, my own research shows that the painting depicts the visit to the ship, whilst QE was at anchor in the Clyde off Gourock on 8th October 1946, of HM Queen Elizabeth with HRHs Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. They embarked QE from ''Queen Mary II'', the Royal Party remained on board for QE's speed trials and disembarked by two tenders later in the day.
