Rosenberg Mek. Stavanger

Rosenberg Mek. Stavanger

Would not be acceptable safety standards today. This steel sheet they are outlining a B on must be the funnel, But that is strange. If we are looking down on the hull, the ship is barely in frame, and the funnel generally came last, or at least after the engine. In the photo here the funnel just barely raises itself above deck. http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2186254
And if it is not a bow, and not a funnel, what is it then? The ship is the MT BERGEHUS, a tanker built for Sigvald Bergesen at the Rosenberg yard in 1955.
