The 1945 built ROXBURGH CASTLE was photographed, seemingly at a French port, by the late Richard Parsons. The ship was scrapped at Shanghai in the second half of 1971.
Dont think it is a french port.
The tricolour is actually the T flag with E beneath it TE meaning please pass me slowly. The Clan R astern has the same flag hoist.
I think it might be Southampton, almost certainly UK as no courtesy ensign is being flown and TE is always flown at Southampton.

The minimalist wheelhouse windows are in keeping with the minimalist wheelhouse.
No frills in there just a magnetic compass, primitive radar and a kettle. All you need really!
Yes but that was only if the radar was working in the first place.
Didn't sail on this one but did my first trip as 3rd Mate on Roslin Castle, they were happy little ships.
