Loading fruit for UK/Europe.
I was second mate on her for a couple of trips in 1971 and took her to Shanghai when she was sold along with her sister ship Riebeeck Castle (my first ship as cadet in 1961)
Sad days with the fleet getting smaller and smaller till there were none!

Of note are the deck crowd on the aft end painting in the name/PoR. Looks like they painted in the "shadow" of the letters. Interesting.

Now, the ladies on the quay..... they look as if they haven't a care in the world and, as styles go, could have been photoshopped in !

dave - back in the day - walking along the piers was common place and many a time you found someone at the gang plank - expressing a liking for a ship - and got invited for a tour - recently - 2019 - when i was in durban - i could not even get into the docks at the entrance ! times have changed somewhat
