This is an outstanding photo Phil, whatever the identity of the ship. I tend toward
Magdapur(1945), as my pic of the Mahronda has a heavy lift derrick aft, and your pic doesn't. Also there is a raised structure over the poop deckhouse in your pic that corresponds with Magdapur's. Thanks for finding it again. cheers, Brent

I think this vessel is either MANIPUR or MAGDAPUR. Mahronda is a little different right forward and also lacks the kingposts just forward of the bridge.

I would go for the Magdapur, it had three of the elongated drain holes/hawse holes per side forward, whereas the Manipur only had two.

I agree with Jaigee that she is Magdapur - Manipur had a top to her mainmast.
Good photo.
For Magdapur with her three Wallsend burners per boiler she is not making as much smoke as she could.
Maidan with her retrofit of 4 Lucas burners and air registers per boiler was much easier to keep a reasonably clear funnel
