S.S. Maheno

The S.S. Maheno was a ship that was used by New Zealand as a hospital ship in World War I and was also used as a bombing practise in World War II.

Yes, I know this ship well, because I decided to paint her back in 1995 and took the painting to Hervey Bay to sell, unfortunately I didn't sell the painting but I did get my painting photographed and put on the Hervey Bay Household Calendar that went out to everyone in the area, I remember I had done quite a bit of research on the ship, i.e. the correct number of lifeboats and portholes I use old pictures from the library, now days however, thanks to shipsnostalgia I have great photos of her in her heyday.
