Nice looking ship and she seems smaller than I have imagined.
Did the Italian shipbuilders make radical changes to her when converting her into Angelina Larou

She was not converted into Angelina Lauro Alreddy. That was the Oranje of Nederland Line. S.A.Oranje is ex Pretoria Castle of Union Castle Line. Dave

Meeting mid voyage - you can almost feel the speed, closing and passing at 45 knots - she could still scamper when she wanted......being close to 20 years old at this point

Thanks Dave , that explains why I couldn't see that ship being turned into Angelina Lauro no matter how good the Italian restoration was.

Dave,
What is the indication of the initials SA, my tunnel vision was seeing only Oranje who as the Nederland Line ship was well known in Australia as a WW2 Hospital Ship.
