The SADINO. they said. converted in an yacht cruiser for a foreign unknown owner moored in the River Douro, with Oporto historical town on the background, in 1977.

Hi Rui
Not sure from your posts ... is Sadino still a yacht? She looks immaculate. However, I didn't think she was built with a bowsprit as you indicate in one of your other photos.
Are there any other sailing coaster hulls in existence, bearing in mind that a fair number were built after 1945, likewise big cod schooners like Luiza Ribau
Can you update on what is happening with regard to the restoration of Santa Maria Manuela, sistership to Argus and Creoula. I found some images on the net suggesting that quite a lot of basic work had been done. It would be a remarkable achievement if the three 1930's-built cod schooners were reunited in a few years
I'm going to rake around and find my pix of Luiza Ribau and a couple of the others, taken near Lisbon in the 1960s. Will eventually post them on this site

Hi Jay
Sadino was built with a bowspirit as shown in the rough sea photo. She left Oporto I supose on the middle of the seventies but her existence or flag I ignore. No other sailing coaster exist nowadays because the traffic along the portuguese ports end over. Only a modern oil or cement tankers make the traffic. I will post photos of Luiza Ribau and of the now recup. S.M.Manuela. I will revert soonest with more information. Regards RUI AMARO
