Correction... painted in 2004... a while before she was refitted by Saga. Hence the reason I have not painted in the lift tower on uppermost deck aft. That was put on during the refit from CARONIA to RUBY. Also, the think white stripe on the funnel is wider in the painting than it is on the ship.

No matter - a stunning painting of this ship! A shame her older sister went to China for scrap...

Her beautiful lines are so artfully extolled by the classic yacht so strategically placed. Bravo Zulu Stephen.

Thanks Don.

Unfortunately I was slack in my research. The little Dragon racer.... in recent years NEVER have wooden masts and the numbering system on the sail went out ... like forty years ago. Of course this was pointed out to me by Captain David Warden-Owen. then master of the RUBY... who also happens to be a very keen DRAGON sailor!

This is the one I was hoping to see. Wonderful painting of a beautiful ship. Thanks for posting it.

Lovely painting! The 'Saga Ruby' is the more beautiful of the two to my eyes, as her lines were not spoilt by additional accommodation above the bridge. Donald.

Excellent painting of a beautiful vessel. Oh for the day when I only have to worry about the thickness of a line on the funnel :))
