In 1903 the barque "HOUGOUMONT"ran aground on the shore at ALLONBY in ***bria, her cargo of tinned pears,peaches and salmon was scattered along the shore---another case like the film "Whiskey Galore"--the locals fed well for a while!!!!!

She came off. Built by Scott's Greenock for Hardie 1897. To Erikson in 24. Dismasted April 20. 1932 in pos. 37° 36' S - 133° 15' E, she was then not considered worth repairing and was sunk in Stenhouse Bay on July 1. 1933. Stein.
