Stumps, the 'Angelic' ships are owned by Diamlemos Shipping Corp. (Diamantis Lemos). The funnel marking is broadly similar, but the photo is far too blurred to even be sure of the logo in the white portion (could be a diamond, could be blue..?) Besides, Diamlemos ships normally have a grey hull. Only one thing is certain - she is a panamax
I agree to Stumps and I' ll bet on ANGELIC GRACE (see: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=448009) especially for funnel marking, hight of funnel and form of bridge. The other ANGELICs pictured at shippspotting all have broader & shorter funnels.
There are many reasons why this cannot be ANGELIC GRACE (compare forecastle, foremast, position of mainmast, deck housings, for starters). But most critically, the real ANGELIC GRACE was on a voyage from Hampton Roads to Koper in Jan 2011 and still has a grey hull.
However, in Durban 21/1-1/2/2011 was SAMJOHN LIBERTY of John Samonas & Sons Ltd/Golden Glame Shipping. And here she is, a few days earlier, in Richards Bay.
The only other Panamax bulker I can find listed for Durban in January was VSP RUBY, which looks completely different.
Gentlemen , like a burst of light it has all come back and it is one of John Samonas 'PANAMAX' so must be the ;SAMJOHN LIBERTY' . Well done. The Lemos clan are so numerous that I can never rememebr if it is John, George, Dimitris , Vassili or whomever. They're all related.
Also, Diamintis Lemos funnel is similar to Samonas but, should have known better.
