San Domenico

San Domenico

She got on the wrong end of the Aratere one night when the Aratere ran into her.
The hole left by the bolbous bow was patched and the SD was prepared for sccuttling.
When this took place the entire bridge house floated off the hull as it sank beneath the waves.

She's an odd looking vessel, what was she?

Most peculiar bow, a bit like a small aircraft carrier!

"She got on the wrong end of the Aratere one night when the Aratere ran into her." .... It is always embarrassing to be the one that gets struck on the starboard side, whilst not conclusive, it tends to point the finger of suspicion in terms of Rule 19. (Jester)

Tonga,
does that still apply when the rammed vessel is moored to a wharf or jetty?
she was moored near the TMA for berthing interisland ferries.
