A little history on the vessel
Official No 135314 "San Jeronimo". ss 15,578 dwt. Built by Wm Doxford and Sons Ltd, Sunderland. Launched, December 13th 1913, by Mrs John Tanner. Delivered, February 10th 1914.
Employed during First World War as a Naval Base Fleet oiler.
Sold, May 10th 1928, to Southern Whaling and Sealing Co Ltd of Liverpool (Chris Salvesen and Co, Managers), converted into a whaling factory and renamed Ragnhildsholm , Southern Empress. She was torpedoed by a German submarine and sunk, October 13th 1942, position approximately 54 deg. N, 41 deg. W.

A member of the family served on the San Jeronimo before she was converted I have found out since posting the photograph
